Guides

Getting to the ship in Philadelphia

The schedule tells you when to sail. These guides cover the rest: getting to the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, parking, the trip from the airport, hotels the night before, the documents to bring and where each route goes. Each one lists its sources and the date we last checked them.

Philadelphia cruise port: where the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal is and how to get there

PhilaPort lists one cruise terminal: the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal at 4 Atlantic Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19153, on the former Hog Island Dock beside Philadelphia International Airport. There is no parking at the terminal, and PhilaPort asks you not to arrive before 9:30 am. All 82 sailings on our schedule are Norwegian, and your cruise documents confirm where you board.

Philadelphia airport to the cruise terminal: taxi, rideshare or Norwegian transfer

Philadelphia International Airport is about 5 to 6 miles by road from the PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, roughly 15 minutes without traffic by OpenStreetMap routing. We found no official page showing public transport to the terminal, so the last leg is a taxi, a ride app or Norwegian's transfer. At PHL, taxis wait at Zone 5 and ride apps pick up at Zone 7.

Do you need a passport to cruise from Philadelphia?

On a Norwegian round trip that starts and ends in Philadelphia, a U.S. citizen can board with a state-certified birth certificate and a government photo ID, though Norwegian strongly recommends a passport. The one-way sailings that end in Quebec City or Barcelona are not closed-loop cruises, so plan on a passport book for those.
